Moon

The full moon looms in the starry sky.
I am able to see all with its light,
But I wonder if she sees the way I do?

I can still feel her heart beating next to mine.
Feeling the rhythm of her chest as she breathes,
Yet, I have never held her.

She captured my soul with one smile,
Melted my heart with a touch.
Her eyes seem to sparkle like the same starry night.
Her smile makes me lose my mind.

However, I cannot forget her,
And I smile in memory of that special night,
When we were together on the dance floor.
To me time stood still.

My soul shakes without her by my side,
As the moon travels,
To the other side of the sky.

So I count the days until I see her,
And watch the moon reach its destination.
I wish to see her again,
Because her heart, I’ll never win.
